Community Computers was set up by Taunton Deane Council For Voluntary Service TDCVS in December 2002. We are a non-profit organisation that recycles computers that have been donated to us by individuals, businesses, Somerset County Council and other local authorities who would prefer to see this equipment recycled for community use rather than disposed of at land-fill sites. In association with our colleagues at Computers for Charity Somerset Community Computers supplies machines with a fully licensed Windows XP Pro Operating System available with Open Office software. Our trained technicians clean and refurbish the Computers to the high standards required of us by Microsoft™ |
| We supply refurbished Computers to Playgroups, Schools, Youth Clubs, Charities and other non-profit organisations. We also make them available to those on
state
benefits, disabled persons, pensioners, and schoolchildren with learning difficulties. We have to request that a small donation is made for each Computer to help with the costs of running our workshop and the software licensing. If you are interested in obtaining a Computer for yourself or for a non-profit organisation, refer to our FAQ's link for further information. Alternatively refer to our Contact Us link. |
